A Message from our CEO
Reading the media, and looking at the retail sales trends towards Christmas gives significant weight to the idea that we are going through a period that can only be described as a crisis in confidence. We have a lack of confidence that the European community can overcome self interest to act in the common good, we have a lack of confidence that our economy is doing as well as the numbers suggest, or that the mining boom is bringing benefits to the community equally.
This is especially interesting for me in that a significant reason behind the existence of NCS International as a certification body, is to provide confidence. We have teams of highly competent auditors bringing their considerable expertise to all our clients management systems, generally reinforcing that the business systems in place give our clients the best chance to survive and prosper in difficult times by giving an assurance that their systems meet the requirements of the relevant standard, whether it be quality, food safety, OH&S or Environmentally based. Where systems do not meet the requirements we clearly identify the issues so that they can be remedied.
Fundamentally we rely on our auditors and their ability. It was particularly pleasing therefore that one of our auditors, Nicole Paraskiv received the 2010 HACCP auditor of the year award and that this was the fourth time in five years that an NCSI Auditor has received that award. I believe that this translates across all our areas of operation. This year we also had two auditors, Steve Lynch and Ratna Pullela, recognised by the Federal Government as Greenhouse Gas auditors.
Our team is also in a position to be able to advise clients on the ramifications of key legislative change such as the National OHS Harmonisation and we are taking a lead role in the greenhouse verification space.
As an organisation NCSI itself is also audited to ensure we meet the stringent requirements of various accreditation bodies and this means our keeping current, the most recent being the updated issue of ISO17021.
Thank you to all of our clients for entrusting us with your certification and other audit work. I would like to believe that it goes someway to providing you a confidence that you need within your organisation, and that your supply chain requires in you so that we can make 2012 a successful year for all of us. I am personally confident of the future of Australian business.
Finally I would like to wish you and your families a very happy and safe Christmas.
