Tourism and ISO 9001: Not for the Faint Hearted When it comes to finding an industry that is highly competitive, 24/7, constantly receiving ‘feedback’ from customers and is not for the faint-hearted, tourism beats most hands-down. So by rights ISO 9001 certification should be well placed to provide a supporting structure. However not all tourism operators have the processes and professionalism to aim for and maintain an internationally recognised benchmark of excellence, namely ISO 9001. At the front of the tourism pack is NCSI client Southern Cross Resorts. ISO 9001 certified, Southern Cross Resorts recently gained wider recognition when their Port Macquarie based Observatory property won the Hotel and Motel Accommodation Industry Award for ‘Best 4.5 star Apartments’ and best overall winner in all categories for ‘Best Presentation in NSW’. A week later, they won the NSW Mid North Coast Tourism Award in the ‘Deluxe Accommodation’ category. Congratulations to the staff at the Observatory Resort, Port Macquarie – a great place for a relaxing getaway. For information regarding the Observatory Resort, please contact us on info@ncsi.com.au |
