Course Outline

• Introduction – science & economics
• Legislation, standards and protocols
• Identification of scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions
• Measuring emissions and using calculation tools
• Carbon reduction targets and plans
• Options for reducing emissions
• Carbon offsets – types and risks
• Accounting for GHG reductions
• Reporting emissions – internally & externally
• Verification of GHG emissions and reductions

Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the participants should be able to:

• Design a GHG Inventory
• Collect reliable and accurate data
• Calculate direct and some indirect emissions
• Set reduction targets and develop a carbon reduction program
• Determine cost effective options for reducing and offsetting emission
• Write an effective report for external stakeholders
• Arrange for independent verification of GHG assertions 

Cost:
 
$1500 per person plus GST, includes lunch, morning /afternoon tea on both days and course material.  Course hours are from 8:30am to 5:00pm, over 2 days.
