Certification & Standards with NCS International

    Why Choose NCS International?

NCS International is one of Australia's largest and most experienced third-party certification bodies, having certified over four thousand individual sites since 1991. We have a reputation for providing friendly, customer-focussed service using qualified, experienced staff and specialists.

NCS International is able to service a very broad range of industries, and many of our clients come to use our services based on the referrals from satisfied customers. NCS International has offices in all state capitals, so our services and support are readily accessible.

All certification programs offered by NCS International are designed to be compatible with each other and with your existing management systems. So if, for example, your company already has ISO 9000 certification, and is seeking certification for HACCP, NCS International can ensure that assessments blend seamlessly, reflecting your system integration. You can also seek certification for more than one program or standard at the same time, minimising costs by avoiding duplication during audits.

    Connected with Excellence

Accreditation: In order to conduct business in the contemporary global marketplace it is integral for certification bodies to hold a variety of approved recognitions. These recognitions act as passports for the facilitation of global business.

NCSI has endeavoured to ensure that the standards that we certify against have the appropriate global recognition. Consequently NCSI and its partners deliver certification and training with a variety of accreditation options. The relevant accreditation for the Standard you select will be clearly defined at the time of proposal and will appear on your certificate.

NCS International is itself audited and accredited by the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ) for its ISO 9001, ISO 14001, AS/NZS 4801, and Disability programs, giving you confidence in the high quality and value of our certification services and staff. JAS-ANZ operates in a third party assessment environment. Third party assessment is recognised around the world as the highest level of assessment, and JAS-ANZ accreditation demonstrates that our conformity assessment services are meeting the highest levels of professionalism in the conformity assessment industry.

Who is JAS-ANZ?  Who accredits the accreditors, and audits the auditors?

JAS-ANZ is the government-appointed accreditation body for Australia and New Zealand responsible for providing accreditation of conformity assessment bodies (CABs) in the fields of certification and inspection. Accreditation by JAS-ANZ demonstrates the competence and independence of these CABs.

JAS-ANZ accredits 66 CABs who in turn certify some 50,000 organisations. Including accreditations and technical assistance projects JAS-ANZ provides services in over 20 countries.

JAS-ANZ is a signatory to a number of bilateral, regional and international agreements. These agreements provide international recognition and acceptance of JAS-ANZ accredited certificates and inspection reports.

    What Is Accreditation?

Accreditation is an endorsement of a conformity assessment body’s (CAB's) competence, credibility, independence and integrity in carrying out its conformity assessment activities.

In everyday language the terms accreditation and certification are often used interchangeably. In the conformity assessment industry however, these terms have very different and specific meanings.

ISO’s formal definition of accreditation is “third party attestation related to a conformity assessment body conveying formal demonstration of its competence to carry out specific conformity assessment tasks.” (ISO/ IEC 17000:2004)

Certification is "third party attestation related to products, processes, systems or persons." (ISO/ IEC 17000:2004)

JAS-ANZ only accredits organisations who provide certification and/ or inspection services. These organisations are known as Conformity Assessment Bodies (or CABs).

Accredited CABs provide certification and inspection services to organisations. Common schemes that CABs certify are quality management systems (QMS) based on the ISO 9001 standard, and environmental management systems (EMS) based on the ISO 14001 standard.
