Coles Housebrand Supplier Program
In May 2006 the Coles Quality Team announced their decision to move to independent third-party audits for suppliers of "Housebrand" food products, following a rigorous process of benchmarking and gap analysis with a cross section of current suppliers.
What Standard do I need certification to?
Four different standards have been selected in order to cover the range of supplier types in the Grocery Food and Fresh Food areas - Freshcare, SQF1000-L3, SQF2000-L3 and The BRC Global Standard for Food. Some standards are not suitable for all types of supplier (eg: BRC is not applicable to on-farm activities, Freshcare is not applicable for Distributors). According to the below matrix, suppliers may have a choice of external standard.
