NCSI to show at 17th Australian HACCP Conference
As the food safety industry prepares for the 17th Annual Australian HACCP Conference set to take place in Melbourne this August, NCSI looks forward to a new wealth of information - and what could be its fourth award winning appearance at the event in as many years.
As the Asia Pacific region’s premier food safety discussion forum, the HACCP Conference draws together an ever-growing number of industry professionals from around the country to address a range of key food safety issues including retailer-driven food safety, food safety in emerging markets and chemical and microbiological contamination risks.
This year over 250 delegates are expected to line the conference halls of the prestigious Sebel Albert Park from August 24-25th in an effort to maintain and further develop Australian food safety programs, including Chief of CSIRO Food & Nutritional Services and keynote speaker Dr Martin Cole.
The HACCP Conference will be immediately followed by the SQF International Conference on the 26th, marking the division’s fifth annual summit and it’s first outside of North America.
Hosted by the US-based Safe Quality Food Institute (SQF), this follow on conference will look to outline a range of case studies and key developments from within its ‘SQF Program’; the institute’s leading food safety and quality certification and management system.
While the outcomes of the 2010 Australian HACCP & SQF International conferences are sure to set a positive direction for the future, the industry will also be afforded the opportunity to reflect on its achievements of the past 12 months when the HACCP Conference Awards commence on August 24.
NCSI will be on the hunt for its fourth consecutive Food Safety Auditor Award, after Stephanie Vincent completed a winning trifecta at the 2009 award ceremony following on from the success of colleagues Aron Malcolm and Gary Kennedy in 2008 and 2007 respectively.
Stephanie’s individual win followed an NCSI victory in the ‘Great Triangular Debate’ earlier on in the 2009 conference, where Vincent teamed up with NCSI Food Division Manager Majella Furey to defend the validity of third party food safety audits.
The NCSI team now turns its attention to this year’s instalment of the highly anticipated awards ceremony, where we hope to further solidify our position as technical leaders within the food safety industry.
