Introduction and who should attend
The principles and practices contained in this two-day course apply to quality, environmental, safety, food safety and integrated management systems and this practical approach to auditing has been designed to:
- help internal audit program managers establish audit programs that add value and identify and manage business and process risk;
- train auditors how to plan, conduct and report on internal audits providing managers at all levels in the organisation meaningful feedback on the strengths, weaknesses and improvement opportunities in their organisation.
Course objectives
On completion of the course participants will:
- understand how to establish an effective audit program;
- be able to schedule audits on the basis of risk and importance of processes;
- be able to develop an audit plan and prepare effective audit checklists;
- be able to conduct audits and prepare effective audit reports;
- be able to review and follow-up corrective actions.

This course covers:
- the benefits of effective internal audit programs;
- establishing an audit program including procedural requirements;
- audit scheduling;
- planning audits and preparation of checklists;
- conducting audits and effective evidence gathering techniques;
- characteristics of effective auditors;
- communication skills;
- effective audit report writing;
- completion of corrective actions.
