Introduction and who should attend

This course provides participants with an understanding of environmental management systems (EMS) based on AS/NZS ISO 14001:2004, including the relationship between the EMS and environmental legislation.

On completion of the course participants will have an understanding of:

  • the requirements of ISO 14001:2004 – what they are and what they mean;
  • documentation requirements of ISO 14001:2004;
  • how an environmental management system supports compliance with environmental legislation and reduces exposure to prosecution;
  • the benefits of an effective EMS.

  • the benefits of ISO 14001:2004 environmental management systems;
  • the requirements of ISO 14001:2004;
  • environmental management principles;
  • documentation requirements of ISO 14001:2004;
  • environmental aspects and impacts;
  • the relationship between the EMS and environmental legislation.
