Introduction to AS 4801:2001 Safety Management Systems

Introduction and who should attend 

This course provides participants with an understanding of occupational health and safety management systems (SMS) based on AS/NZS 4801:2001 and OHSAS 18001:2007, including the relationship between the SMS and OH&S legislation.

Course objectives

On completion of the course participants will have an understanding of:

• the requirements of AS/NZS 4801:2001 and OHSAS 18001:2007;
• identification and assessment of workplace hazards;
• OH&S legislation and how it relates to the SMS;
• the documentation requirements of AS/NZS 4801:2001 and OHSAS 18001:2007.

Course outline

This course covers:

• benefits of OH&S management systems;
• the requirements of AS/NZS 4801:2001 and OHSAS 18001:2007- what they are and what they mean;
• the documentation requirements of AS/NZS 4801:2001 and OHSAS 18001:2007;
• application of OH&S legislation;
• review and improvement of the SMS.

Fees:  $495 (Including GST)
Includes comprehensive course notes, lunch & refreshments and issue of certificate of attendance.
