Introduction and who should attend
This course provides participants with an understanding of occupational health and safety management systems (SMS) based on AS/NZS 4801:2001 and OHSAS 18001:2007, including the relationship between the SMS and OH&S legislation.
Course objectives
On completion of the course participants will have an understanding of:
- the requirements of AS/NZS 4801:2001 and OHSAS 18001:2007;
- identification and assessment of workplace hazards;
- OH&S legislation and how it relates to the SMS;
- the documentation requirements of AS/NZS 4801:2001 and OHSAS 18001:2007.
Course outline
This course covers:
- benefits of OH&S management systems;
- the requirements of AS/NZS 4801:2001 and OHSAS 18001:2007- what they are and what they mean;
- the documentation requirements of AS/NZS 4801:2001 and OHSAS 18001:2007;
- application of OH&S legislation;
- review and improvement of the SMS.
