Introduction and who should attend
This course provides participants with a detailed knowledge and understanding of the SQF Codes.
This two day program is designed for:
- Certification body and internal auditors intending to conduct SQF system audits;
- Quality / food safety managers or personnel responsible for developing and establishing SQF systems;
- Consultants responsible for developing and establishing SQF systems;
- Organisations with an existing SQF system that are looking to improve and add value to their system.
Course outline
The Basics of SQF Systems course includes:
- the SQF program and its management;
- Quality, customers and the cost of quality;
- SQF Program vocabulary;
- SQF Program food sector categories;
- the SQF Codes;
- Food safety and food quality plans;
- the requirements of SQF practitioners and consultants;
- Establishing and maintaining SQF systems;
- Auditing SQF systems - an overview.
Course objectives
On completion of the course participants will have an understanding of:
- the need to improve food safety and quality;
- the application of the requirements described in the SQF Codes;
- how to effectively establish quality management systems to meet the SQF Code requirements.
Course outcomes
On completion of the course candidates will be prepared to undertake the SQF Online examination (at extra cost payable to FMI – owners of the SQF Standard). Delegates need to successfully complete this online exam to apply to be an SQF Practitioner. Please note the SQF Standard no longer requires Practioners to do an SQFI sanctioned programmed before sitting the online exam.
Delegates should note that this is not an SQFI sanctioned program and that it is not being conducted by a licensed training center, and that an SQFI certificate is not being issued.
Fees: $825 (GST included). Includes comprehensive course notes, lunch & refreshments and issue of certificate of attendance.
