Minova Australia played an important role during the rescue of miners Brant Webb and Todd Russell at Beaconsfield.
Minova Australia, an NCSI certified company since 1992, played an important role during the recent rescue of the two miners Brant and Todd who were trapped in an underground rockfall at Beaconsfield Gold Mine in Tasmania.

Within 36 hours following the discovery that the missing miners were still alive, Minova’s technical team were consulted to develop a special grout product to help consolidation of the unstable ground around the collapsed area.

Minova’s response to this emergency was rapid and professional. A full production and technical crew were placed on standby at the company’s Nowra plant, and the special product formulated to meet the exacting strength and curing specification. Following production, quality control, and express delivery from the nearby HMAS Albatross Naval Air base, the product was first tested on-site before being applied with the assistance of the trapped miners, and Minova personnel.

Minova’s successful involvement in the Beaconsfield rescue operation was made possible through the expert input from personnel within the entire Minova Australia Group of Companies, and the supporting design and production systems certified to Quality, Safety and Environmental Standards.
