Print Bound wins Premier's award Print Bound, an NCSI certified company is recognised as being at the leading edge of best practice in minimising its environmental footprint for hard copy media. Recently awarded the Victorian Premier’s Business Sustainability Award, this SME has accomplished a number of milestones in the development of its business through investment in equipment, optimising processes and sourcing eco-friendly materials. Underpinned by the personal environmental passion of its directors Mauro Mattarucco and Mark Tomasini, the company has introduced a number of environmental initiatives including reducing emissions within the factory and sustainability through ‘recover and recycle’ programs. To assist the implementation of its 'minimum environmental footprint' strategy, Print Bound achieved ISO14001 certification from NCS International in October 2005. The Eco Recycle Waste Wise certification, which is minimising waste and working towards zero landfill, was awarded in May 2005. Most recently, the firm achieved FSC 'Chain of Custody' (CoC) certification giving Print Bound a marketing edge where large corporate clients are seeking suppliers with strict compliance with standards related to the origin of paper fibre. It provides the company with the ability to guarantee the source of the paper pulp and therefore the type and species of forest from which the timber was harvested. In implementing an environmental management system to ISO14001, Print Bound sought to provide a structure to its drive for continual improvement. The system provides a practical means to communicate issues and programs to staff with respect to maintaining and improving the factory’s environmentally friendly status. Certification is a means of adding credibility to the company’s reputation. NCS International is pleased to be associated with a company where minimising environmental impact and continual improvement are an integral part of the way the company performs its business. |
