Introduction and who should attend
This intensive five day training course is based on the guidelines of ISO 19011:2003 and is designed for:
- auditors and lead auditors who are required to conduct assessments and audits of quality management systems based on AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008;
- people who are responsible for developing and implementing quality management systems based on AS/NZS ISO 9001:2008.
Delegates will be issued with copies of the AS/NZS ISO 9001 Standard for use during the course. However, to complete the assessment activities delegates will need access to their own copy of the Standard. Hard copies can be purchased during the enrolment process for delivery during the course.

Course certification
NCSI Pty Limited is certified under the RABQSA International Training Provider Examination Certification Scheme (TPECS) to provide training and examination of competency for quality management system auditors. Certified Training Provider No.013841
Course outcomes
On successful completion of this course, participants will be issued with a Certificate of Attainment covering the following competencies under the RABQSA International TPECS:
RABQSA – QM Quality Management Systems RABQSA – AU Management Systems Auditing RABQSA – TL Leading Management Systems Audit Teams
This certificate enables successful candidates to apply to RABQSA International for certification as a provisional auditor.
Course outline
The QMS auditor / lead auditor course covers:
- the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 including the eight quality management principles that underpin the standard;
- the requirements of ISO 19011:2003;
- application of the process model contained in ISO 9001:2008;
- documentation requirements;
- planning, organising and conducting assessments and audits, including preparation of checklists, designing audit programs and writing effective audit reports;
- human aspects of assessments and audits including effective information gathering techniques;
- qualifications and characteristics of effective auditors.
The course includes a number of activities that are used to assess the competence of participants against the RABQSA International competency requirements.
