University of Wollongong Committed to Quality The University of Wollongong (UOW) Administration has been certified to the Quality Management System standard AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000. The Scope of Certification for UOW Administration includes the Academic Registrar’s Division, Accommodation Services, Buildings & Grounds, Financial Services, Personnel Services, the Performance Indicator Project Team and the Quality Assurance Unit. ![]() above: Vice-Principal (Administration), Mr Chris Grange, is pictured with Quality Assurance Manager, Samantha Domagala at the function to celebrate QMS certification. UOW Administration is responsible for the provision of client service delivery to students, residential accommodation options, facilities management, and financial and staff services across the University. The UOW Administration Quality Management System (QMS) provides a standard framework to achieve business objectives, meet client requirements and have efficient and effective administrative systems and processes. It also actively supports and promotes a culture of excellence, leadership and continuous improvement in an innovative environment. “However, we understand it is only the first phase of an ongoing process and that continuous improvement is fundamental for our ongoing success if we are to achieve our overall goal to meet, maintain and comply with ISO 9001:2000”. The next external audit by NCS International is planned for May 2008. UOW Administration staff celebrated the success of QMS certification at a function hosted by the Quality Assurance Unit last month. The Quality Assurance Unit coordinates activities in customer service, quality assurance, process improvement and benchmarking.
