Introduction and who should attend
This course provides people who are commencing implementation of an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system based on AS/NZS 4801:2001 and OHSAS 18001:2007, with the knowledge and skills required to develop an OH&S management system that supports compliance with OH&S legislation, reduces exposure to litigation and improves workplace safety.
Course objectives
On completion of the course participants will have an understanding of:
- the requirements of AS/NZS 4801:2001 & OHSAS 18001:2007;
- how to identify and assess workplace hazards and risk;
- how OH&S legislation relates to the OH&S management system;
- the documentation requirements of AS/NZS 4801:2001 and OHSAS 18001:2007;
- how to establish and manage an effective internal audit program.
Course outline
This course covers:
- benefits of an OH&S management system;
- the requirements of AS/NZS 4801:2001 and OHSAS 18001:2007 - what they are and what they mean;
- identifying workplace hazards and assessing risk;
- development of operational controls and emergency procedures;
- development of effective OH&S documentation;
- implementing effective internal audit and system review processes.
Fees: $935 (Including GST) Includes comprehensive course notes, lunch & refreshments and issue of certificate of attendance.
