There are eight standards which have direct relevence to the utilities, resources and agricultural sectors.
The standards and schemes below are of particular relevence to any utility, telecommunications provider or business in the natural resources or agricultural sectors. You can get further information on certification to these standards, or request a quote .

ISO 9001 – Quality

ISO 14001 – Environment
Organisations involved in managing or harvesting primary commodities take on responsibility for environmental stewardship. An ISO 14001 management system provides a framework for effectively improving environmental performance and minimising legal exposure. Certification of your EMS promotes your organisation as a responsible corporate citizen.

AS 4801 – Safety
In the harsh and potentially dangerous working environments such as agriculture, mining, forestry, and public utilities, safety needs to be a primary concern. A certified safety management system to AS 4801, ISO 18001 or SafetyMap principles is a proven way of lifting safety awareness, reducing accident costs, and winning employee and stakeholder confidence.

AS 4708 – Forestry
Developed specifically for Australia’s unique forest environment, the Australian Forestry Standard (AS4708) focuses on sustainable wood production, and is applicable to exotic and native hardwood and softwood forests. Complementary to ISO 14001, the Standard provides a robust basis for sustainable environmental, social, and economical management of our forest resources.

AS 4360- Risk Management
The Australian Standard AS 4360 provides generic guidance on risk management for every enterprise, large or small, public or private. NCSI can recognize management system based on this framework.

AS 4707 - Chain of Custody (Timber)
Chain of Custody (Timber) basically tracks a wood or forest product from its origin in a certified forest through to its end use. It is a means of producing the consumer accurate information on a product’s origin

Plantation Timber Certification (PTC)
This is an industry product certification scheme. It was developed for processors to provide confidence to customers that plantation softwood structural products (machine graded, visually graded, finger jointed, proof graded and glued laminated) and appearance grade products (shelving, lining, flooring), are consistently manufactured fit-for-purpose.

ISPM 15- Australian Wood Packaging Certification Scheme (AWPCS)
The AWPCS is a certification scheme developed by AQIS to ensure that Australian treatment providers and wood packaging manufacturers produce wood packaging material that meets the requirements of ISPM 15. Under this scheme wood packaging manufacturers and treatment providers who meet the requirements of ISPM 15 will be authorized by AQIS to apply an internationally recognized mark to wood packaging material.
